I am 24 years old and I have paid my college loan late a few times and I am hoping to get a home loan with a descent interest rate, will that still be possible? And what effect do garnishments have on home loans? The garnishment is not home loan related.

Concerning my school loan and is it right?

I am not working and haven’t been for quite some time. My husband is the bread winner. We are a family of 5 and the financial situation is tough. We filed on our taxes and my school loan took all of the tax money that we were going to receive. I feel that this is wrong because I currently do not have a job and stopped working to be with my daughter who has seizures and demands our attention. Please anyone, I need you comments and advice on my situation. Thank you!

Do I have to repay the school loan even If I'm not going to that school anymore?

I enrolled in a pharmacy tech program in a private school , I never signed anything or never accpeted any financial aid or loan , I filled out fafsa for grant money and havent accepted their offer either…Now I don’t want to go to that school anymore, and there is 5 more months left. Do I have to pay them or apply for a loan even if Im not attending their classes?

What can I do about a default school loan?

I have a large school loan that went in to default because i was in a very bad car accident and could not make the payments. Now I am on disability I get a monthly check. After i pay rent and utilities I have maybe 200.00 left for food and meds. I tried to make arragement with them to send 50.00 they said they would put a note that I refuse to pay. They want me to pay 275.00 a month or they will take my husband tax refund.( he was not around when i got this debt) or sue. What can I do? HELP

A way around paying interest while in school on a school loan?

I took out a private/alt education loan with a company that filled the form out over the phone. They didnt’ ask if i wanted to pay interest only while in school. To my misfortune, they selected/type in that option for me, and now I seem to be stuck paying this, and I cannot afford it! They SAY they can’t change it, and neither will AES, is there any way around this? My other loans don’t have this as my choice!

Does anybody know if you can file bankruptcy on a Federal school loan? If you have already defalted on the loan but they have not garinish your wages yet, and you can not make any payment on the loan at all, can you file an the federal school loans too, when you file?

So I screwed up. Somehow I missed the FAFSA date and didnt file in time. My family is fairly well-off, and I wasn’t expecting to get any sort of grant or anything, but I do need loans to get me through school. Can I sill get school loans even though I didn’t file the FAFSA? Does the fact that I didn’t file hurt my chances of getting a loan? Where’s a good place to start in terms of looking for a loan?
